It's been a week now and I'm still having trouble keeping back my tears. We knew that eventually our life together would come to an end and we know that we should be grateful that we have come this far after our final passage home across the Pacific. Despite previous predictions of a much earlier outcome, the medicos are now talking palliative care, keeping her out of hospital and making her as comfortable as possible. At a meeting with Lyndall's specialist, we were told that medical science can do no more and that we should focus on quality of life for the remaining months. In a lifetime of nearly 50 years together, that'snot much time. But what a life it has been.
