My little flower is wilting but still smiling. Last visit we could see that the specialist was intrigued, it was as though he'd never seen such tenacity before. So I thought I'd get a different perspective on what she'd been through and produced graphs and trendlines for the blood results over the past year. I also rang the CEO of a pharmaceutical company advertising a new drug, designed specifically for Lyndall's rather rare condition. We hope we're going to reach a position where we can afford to use this drug at least for 4 months - at that time we'll know if it is working. By all accounts, it will be a hard 4 months with many unwanted side effects and much driving back and forth to hospital. But it does offer some reprieve, not a total remission but at least we'll have her around for a bit longer - hope so.
