Townsville 9 March 2007
It's humid tropical weather here and the marina is quiet during the day - most liveaboarders are hiding below decks with their air-conditioners switched on, only sliding back the hatches in the cool of the evening. A few years ago we would have scoffed at the idea, being happy with a fan below and the big awning covering the decks, but comfort always wins out in the end and our aircon is running when we're on board too. Lyndall's condition is even weaker these days and we have decided to move her back to Sydney to be closer to family and our old friends. We are leaving illywhacker in her pen in the marina in the hope that we might get back later in the year. Even so, the ever so sad prospect of us having our last sail together is ahead of us. I sincerely hope I am wrong.
