12 Feb 2004: Kettering, Tasmania
Travelling by land and air, we arrived in this great little harbour to catch up with a number of sailing friends from Sydney. It is strange to report that all sailed here, liked it so much they dropped the hook and moved ashore. Seeing the large tracts of vacants bush blocks with views across the water to Bruny Island is tempting to do the same but somehow we don't feel ready just yet. Living aboard is still our preferred lifestyle despite Lyndall's increasing lack of mobility. However, Tasmania has the same natural beauty, climate and the kind of people we like to hangout with - similar to our experiences in Canada's Gulf Islands and New Zealand. Even in such a beautiful part of the world we are looking forward to being back on illywhacker, now expected late March.
