Course 260T, speed 6kts, wind E 15, sea SE3m. After 2 days of 25kts and 3-4m seas it is only just safe toget the computer out. We are now 130nm from Flinders Passage, our entrance t o the Great Barrier Reef. From there we'll have just 60nm to go to Townsville. It has been a 7000nm journey from Canada and we've had nearly 50 days a t sea with breaks at Hawaii, Tuvalu and Vanuatu - I'm understandably a bit relieved to be so close to home. ETA Townsville is late Sunday afternoon 31 Aug 2003.
