0800hrs 3 Aug 2003 UTC: Fongafale, Tuvalu

The town is on a long thin coral strip formed by one side of the atoll, which is about 7 miles wide. We are anchored in clear smooth water and have had 2 days to ourselves, just sleeping, doing a few cleanup tasks, sleeping, swimming, sleeping ..and well just catching up after the last 15 days from Hawaii. There are virtually no supplies here so we will eat in town ($5AUD for a meal) and meet the locals for a few days and look forward to our next fresh supplies in Vanuatu.
