Heading 220T, speed 5.5kts, wind SE4, swell NW1m, temp 23/24. Motoring under blue skies toward 28N wherethe wefax predicts light NE winds. We have 1110nm to Hawaii after doing 1320nm from Victoria. Our G&T's were interrupted last night by a visit from a pod of pilot whales intent on heading to Mexico. We've seen little else apart from an inordinate amount of floating rubbish some of which occasionedan early morning swim for me. At 0330 the motor stopped abruptly so we drifted and slept until dawn when I cut a large net away from the prop. It happened again today and took 30min to clear. Our beautiful Pacific is shamefully less than pristine.
