13 Sep 2002: Bickley Bay.
A beautiful evening, illywhacker is reflected in perfectly calm water with a band of fog at the bay edges brushed in sunset colours. In a different sort of rapid transit we motored here today via the Whirlpool and Greene Pt rapids. Both are best navigated at slack tide but we managed a 2kt flood at the first which was made more exciting by a peasoup fog and a 1.9kt ebb on the second under clear blue sky 2 hours later. The backwaters of the Inside Passage offer up many surprises, today we passed a German restaurant, tucked away in the wilderness. Fortunately we had dinner defrosting!
